What is an assessment? Why does it matter?

An assessment is an evaluation of a patient or client.

A thorough assessment is what dictates the next steps we take.

It helps us figure out what the client needs. the 3 biggest things we see in our clients are.
1. Mobility Problems

2. Stability Problems

3. Capacity Problems

Each problem has it's own solution. If we only do one thing for every client some will get better, but others will not find answers they are searching for.

If you try and treat a stability problem as a mobility problem you're going to have a hard time as a clinician and vice versa.

A lot of people thing if you just get stronger or faster it fixes all problems but if you build capacity on top of dysfunction down the line it can lead to catastrophic results.
