Assessments we use in the office
We use various assessments in the office as needed. Each one has a specific goal in mind.
SFMA
Diagnosis movement assessment. Used to identify the limiting body part and help find compensations causing pain. Can be used to start a treatment protocol. Used in our office to help us know what to do.
FMS
Series of 7 movement assessments looking at what the body can do and can’t do. Used to help write correctives and workout programs. Not good at identifying possible injuries but can be used to find asymmetries in movement and knowing what the client is ready to be able to do.
TPI
Series of movements and tests to help golfers improve their bodies to lower their scores.
Orthopedic testing
Testing to rule in and rule out specific pathologies for different parts of the body.
Neurologic testing
Testing to rule out specific pathologies in the brain and nervous system.
Y-Balance Test
Used to identify motor control and stability deficits. Harder to use on deconditioned clients. Can be a good source of injury prevention and identification of possible future injuries.
Functional Capacity Screen (FCS)
Used to help athletes improve their fitness. Tests explosiveness and motor control. Higher level of testing. Not everyone needs to be ran through a FCS.
