  • What is a TPI golf assessment?

A TPI assessment is a series of movement tests to determine what your body can and cannot do. We utilize 3D motion capture, movement tests, camera analysis and fitness testing to compare you to the best players in the world and what you need to improve upon to get better.

  • Who should get a golf performance assessment?

Anyone who wants to be their best should be evaluated. Once you know what you to get better it’s easy to formulate a plan.

  • Can improving my movement improve my golf swing?

Improving your body can impact on how you swing the club. The body takes the path of least resistance when performing a movement. If you take away the resistance you can change how you swing easier.

  • Can you help me increase clubhead speed?

Yes, improving club head speed can happen a few different ways. Making the club travel further, increasing the amount of force applied to the club, or improving mechanics to increase distance. We can do all those things

  • Can you help me reduce golf-related pain?

Yes, pain related to golf happens. We can help you find why it’s happening and changing how you train and how you swing to take it away.

  • Do you provide golf-specific workouts?

he workout you get is given by what you need. Do you need to focus heavily on movement? Are you Powerful enough? Are you strong enough? Once these questions are answered the program almost builds itself.

  • How often should I repeat a TPI assessment?

We recommend stopping in once a month to make sure we are making the improvements we need to make

  • Can you work with my golf instructor?

Of course. Working with instructors and letting them know what we are working on as well will help them understand what you can and cannot do at the moment. If they are having you work on a movement you cannot physically do it’s like beating your head against a wall

  • Can golfers benefit from strength training?

Yes, improving your strength has benefits from hitting the ball further, preventing injury and playing longer as we age

  • Should golfers train explosively?

Once a golfer is strong enough the next aspect to train is speed development. Achieving top force faster is how you swing faster.

  • Can you train clubhead speed?

You can train clubhead speed. Once you know where you are deficient you can improve that aspect.

  • How do you determine whether I need more strength or more speed?

By power testing. If Power is low and strength is low, we start with strength training. If strength is good, then training dynamically and training for speed is where we should focus our energy.

  • What is the difference between strength, power, and speed?

Power is force (strength) x speed. To be powerful you need to be strong and fast. If you’re just strong, you may not be powerful.

  • Can exercise improve my ability to play multiple days in a row?

Improving exercise capacity can help you play more golf. If golf is the most demanding thing you put your body through, it’s going to wear you down. If you train hard the body will be more primed to play golf.

  • What should golfers work on during the winter?

The long Iowa winter is a perfect time to work on your body and golf mechanics. When you’re not playing a bunch of golf is when you can try and change your game

  • How should golf training change during the competitive season?

During the competitive season training needs to be monitored and tracked depending on if you have competitions upcoming. Training weeks and times can be altered due to what is happening that week
